Need immediate support? Crisis Survival Self-Help Guide

The strangeness and stigma that often accompanies the experience can lead many to withdraw from others. At times we need to retreat from the world and its responsibilities to turn inward. Yet, prolonged isolation can make the process more difficult, straining an already overwhelmed nervous system. It may also trap us in trauma loops or fantasy scenarios, leaving us with the painful feeling that we are broken or utterly alone in our struggle.

Often, what is needed most is simply a safe space where we feel seen and accepted.

Human connection is a fundamental need that is deeply rooted in our psyche and biology. We are social beings and thrive when we belong, when we are mirrored by others and when we can contribute to the life around us. Without closeness and reflection, we may lose our sense of who we are.

Important: These communities offer peer connection and support, not medical or psychological treatment. If you are in acute psychosis or a threat to your one safety or that of others, contact local emergency services.
